Shipping and Returns
Our Shipping Policy
Shipping costs are an unfortunate necessity, but not an area where we make money. We will charge you only the actual shipping cost (and include delivery confirmation on all USPS orders and tracking and insurance on Fed Ex and UPS orders) and will try to determine the least costly method to ship. Insurance on USPS shipments is optional, so please specify if you would like to include insurance (coverage in the event your package is damaged or lost). If your shipment is lost, we will try to assist you in working with the shipping agency to find it. If you did not insure with USPS (or ship via UPS or FED EX) and the package is not recovered, we cannot issue refunds.
We offer free delivery to Oakland and Berkeley in Calfornia as our schedule permits. If the shipping address is in Oakland or Berkeley, you can choose Local Delivery as a shipping option.
Shipping calculators are not able to calculate USPS Priority Flat Rate boxes or Regional Rate boxes as a shipping option. If you choose "Whatever Shipping is Cheapest" when checking out, and if we are able to fit your order in these boxes for cheaper, you will be charged the LOWER RATE. For domestic orders, we can fit up to 6 lbs in a Regional Rate A box, 10 lbs in a Regional Rate B Box, 10 lbs of food in the $10.85 boxes and up to 17 lbs in the $14.65 boxes, so order more to optimize shipping!! If you want us to use this option if it is cheaper rather than whichever shipping you select, choose USPS IF CHEAPER in the drop down. If you don't want this method, even if it saves you money, choose SELECTED SHIPPING.
For all orders we will ship out no later than the next business day following payment, as long as we have all items in stock. Otherwise, we will ship out as soon as we have everything in stock. If this will mean the order will be at the Post Office over the weekend when the weather is warm, we will wait until Monday so the foods don't sit out of refrigeration longer than necessary. This is not as much a concern in the cold winter months.
We use only recycled and reusable cardboard boxes for items shipped Fed Ex, UPS, and US Parcel Post. We obtain boxes from neighboring businesses. We shred recycled office waste and use as packing material. We do not purchase Styrofoam peanuts or any other packing materials, but will re-use those we come across to avoid impact on landfills.
Disclaimer
Due to the changes in laws around food, we are needing to add a disclaimer to purchases of our food. When you place an order, you understand that the foods you are ordering have not been pasteurized, heated, or treated with pesticides or other poisons that are performed by conventional farmers. Some have also not been frozen. This maintains the integrity, enzymes, nutrition, and overall life of the food. This method of farming also minimizes the harm and destruction of other life on our earth, including animals, insects, and bacteria that may co-exist with the food. By paying the invoice, you agree to receiving this food and also agree to not hold Raw From the Farm or any of its employees responsible should you experience any ill effects from the consumption of this food, including but not limited to, severe illness, loss of limb, or death.
Our Return Policy
Your satisfaction is very important to us. We take great pride in the quality of our foods and want you to experience that quality as well. If you are not completely happy with your order, please contact us at rawfromthefarm@gmail.com. so we can make it right. Because the foods are perishable, please refrigerate immediately and contact us within 5 days of receiving your order if you would like to return an item. All returns require approval prior to refund. Orders of 2 lbs or more of one product are not eligible for returns.
